As the world leader in ecological transformation, Veolia places Corporate Social Responsibility at the heart of its mission.

Our approach is built on a multifaceted performance model that integrates environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and societal engagement.

Every action we take aims to create sustainable value — for the planet, for people, and for communities — while aligning purpose with performance to drive meaningful and lasting impact.

Balancing Purpose with Performance

We believe in creating positive, lasting impacts on the lives we touch.

From promoting inclusivity in the workplace to investing in local education initiatives, we place people at the center of everything we do.

We support vulnerable communities, foster safe and respectful workplaces, and create opportunities for all—especially the next generation.

True long-term change starts with the next generation.

1Empowering Communities & Embracing Diversity

Namat School in Oman

The Namat School Competition, sponsored by Veolia Oman and the Environment Society of Oman, is a national initiative promoting environmental conservation through student-led projects tackling water, waste, and energy challenges. Now in its 4th edition, it targets grades 5 to 12, with all content in Arabic. Since 2019, 600 public schools have participated, involving students, teachers, parents, and communities. In 2024, 491 schools joined, 144 were shortlisted, and top schools were awarded.

Junior Resourcers Program

Junior Resourcers Program

The Junior Resourcers program, an educational initiative in English and Arabic for students in the region aged 7 to 10. Covering key topics such as the circular economy, water, energy, food waste, and climate change. Thanks to digital tools, schools involvement  and Veolia collaborators, it combines interactive lessons, quizzes, videos, and site visits to make sustainability both engaging and tangible.

Green Gurl, Veolia’s Comic Book

Green Girl, Veolia’s Comic Book

To spark even greater interest in the Junior Resourcers program, we also introduced a children’s comic book “Green Girl” which follows Amal, a 9 year old  zero-waste hero, on a mission to promote environmental awareness. Set in the UAE, the comic book reflects local culture through relatable characters and amusing stories, it delivers simplified yet impactful key messages for children about sorting, recycling and environmentally responsible behaviour.

Caring for the planet is not a side commitment—it’s at the heart of what we do, every single day.

Our core business is about delivering sustainable solutions that decarbonize, depollute, and regenerate resources.

From water reuse and renewable energy to waste recovery and biodiversity protection, we work hand-in-hand with local partners to regenerate ecosystems and build a greener, more resilient future.

2Environmental Stewardship

Samra Wastewater Treatment Plant

Thanks to the Samra Wastewater Treatment Plant, a large part of Jordan benefits from the safe reuse of treated water—covering 25% of the country’s agricultural water needs and 12% of its overall water demand, including for domestic use.

Doha North plant

In Qatar, in Doha, we’re helping biodiversity thrive. At the Doha North plant, Veolia maintains a forest with over 90,000 trees from 28 different species, spread across 750 hectares. This site has become a sanctuary where nature is reclaiming its space, now welcoming more than 30 bird species each year—many of them migratory.

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi

Partnering with Universities for Environmental Research, with Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, we combine academic insight and field expertise to explore sustainability challenges, support research, and engage future generations in ecological transformation.

While our CSR strategy is built around environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and societal engagement, the ethical dimension remains central to everything we do.

Ethics is not a separate pillar but a foundational element that underpins all aspects of Veolia’s approach.

It ensures that our commitment to sustainability is guided by integrity, transparency, and accountability.

3Transparent, Responsible, Long-Term

Below are key examples that demonstrate
how we embed ethics into our daily practices and decision-making processes

  • Transparent governance practices, including anti-corruption policies and compliance programs across all operations

  • Supplier code of conduct ensuring responsible procurement and human rights respect throughout the value chain

  • Ethics and integrity training for employees at all levels, supported by a dedicated Ethics Committee that oversees responsible behavior and decision-making

  • Whistleblower mechanisms that allow safe, anonymous reporting of misconduct

  • Clear ESG reporting aligned with international standards, offering stakeholders visibility on Veolia’s impact and progress

These measures help build trust and accountability with all stakeholders — from employees and clients to partners, regulators, and local communities.
